Comfort Dental - Lee’s Summit

⭐️ 1/5 — Extremely frustrating and disorganized experience. I do NOT recommend Comfort Dental based on my experience today. I called Monday to schedule a cleaning and was given a 12:00 PM appointment for Thursday. During that call, I was specifically asked about my dental insurance. I explained that my insurance had not changed, that I had personally been seen at this same office about four months ago, and that my daughter—who has the exact same insurance—had also recently been seen there. They even pulled up my daughter’s information while I was on the phone. I arrived today at 12:00 for my appointment. It is now after 1:00 PM, and I am leaving without receiving ANY dental service. When I arrived, I was told there was an issue verifying my insurance. I personally called my insurance company while sitting in their office and had the necessary information faxed over. Eventually, the office discovered that my member ID had changed and told me they would get me back for my cleaning. Then, around 12:45–12:50, I was told there was another problem. Apparently, my previous cleaning had been entered/coded incorrectly in their system. I was told my last cleaning was actually a periodontal cleaning rather than a basic cleaning and that they now needed pre-approval from my insurance before they could perform today’s cleaning. Otherwise, I would have to pay out of pocket. Absolutely not. If your office incorrectly coded my previous treatment, that is an administrative issue on your end—not something I should have to financially absorb. More importantly, why was none of this handled BEFORE my scheduled appointment, especially when insurance was specifically discussed when I scheduled it? I took time away from work, arrived for my appointment on time, spent over an hour trying to help resolve issues that should have been addressed beforehand, and still left without getting my teeth cleaned. Mistakes happen. What is unacceptable is poor communication, lack of preparation, and expecting a patient to pay out of pocket because of an error the office says was made during their previous visit. After today, I will be finding another dental provider. My time is valuable, and this level of disorganization is unacceptable.

I came in for dental pain and literally everyone there was so sweet and kind. From front office, to hygienist, to Dr Diaz. Everyone was sooo top notch. Thank you for getting me in fast and being kind and thorough!

I learned her name after assisting Dr. Diaz-Johnson during my two recent visit, and her exceptional personalities stood out both times. She demonstrate intelligence, professionalism, and a strong knowledge of a role while interacting with Dr. Diaz-Johnson. I had intended to submit this recognition sooner, but although time got away from me, her rare qualities certainly did not. Professional, courteous, accommodating, patient, and thorough. They take the time to explain procedures and discuss options. After numerous visits over the past few months, I felt compelled to finally leave a 5-star review. Not that I ever look forward to going to the dentist, but I feel comfortable going back to this location. I have been seen by three different dentists there, and all of them have been very friendly, patient, and respectful. My experience with the DAs has varied a bit from visit to visit, but I understand that can happen in a busy office, especially when staff are still gaining experience. Overall, I have felt well cared for, and the dentists have earned my trust.

Mariya did a fantastic job of cleaning my teeth. She was very attentive to my comfort during the entire process. She is very personable and friendly. Dr. Bob spent a lot of time with me after the cleaning reviewing the X-rays to clarify a go forward plan for any identified issues. I highly recommend Comfort Dental for your dental care.

Dr. Diaz and her staff are wonderful! I have no anxiety about dental work! Compassionate care with personality! I appreciate all of the staff at Comfort Dental, however, Mariah, the hygienist, goes out of her way to make sure patients are comfortable and feel like they are the only person in the office.
