Blue Wave Orthodontics

I am leaving this review for Bluewave Orthodontics because I understand that Feldman Orthodontics merged and became Bluewave Orthodontics in 2017. I was a patient of Dr. Feldman when I was a tween, before that transition. Dr. Feldman has since passed away, so I want to be clear that I am sharing my personal experience with the practice and my treatment history—not blaming the current doctors or staff at Bluewave for decisions made decades ago. I feel it is extremely important for current and prospective patients—and especially parents—to be aware of the potential for orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption (OIIRR) following orthodontic treatment. I distinctly remember Dr. Feldman telling my father that he could shorten my anticipated treatment time from approximately 3 years to about 1.5 years in metal braces. As a child, I trusted the adults and medical professionals making these decisions for me and had no understanding of the potential long-term consequences. Unfortunately, today, as an adult, I am dealing with significant orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption (OIIRR) affecting all six of my maxillary anterior teeth (my upper teeth from canine to canine) as well as looseness in those teeth. It is heartbreaking to face these consequences now as an adult, after my orthodontic treatment. I understand that root resorption is a rare but recognized potential complication of orthodontic treatment, and I am not claiming that accelerated treatment is definitively the cause of my particular condition. I simply believe patients deserve to understand that this is a potential outcome and to have informed conversations about treatment speed, risks, monitoring, and long-term consequences. If you are considering orthodontic treatment for yourself or your child, please ask questions. Ask how quickly the teeth will be moved, how treatment progress and root health will be monitored, and what will be done if root resorption is detected. I am not writing this review out of anger toward the current Bluewave team. I am writing it because I wish someone had made me and my family more aware of this potential risk when I was a child. My hope is simply that sharing my experience will help another patient or parent make a more informed decision.

Dr. Heddaya and his team are truly amazing. My treatment took a little over 2 years to complete, and my smile was completely transformed through his attention to detail and expertise. My case wasn’t the easiest since I needed tooth extractions and extensive orthodontic work but throughout the entire process I always felt confident that I was in great hands.The staff was always welcoming and accommodating and Dr. Heddaya took the time to explain everything clearly and make sure I was comfortable every step of the way. My boyfriend was also treated here and had an equally great experience. I also want to give a special shoutout to Olivia, who did many of my wire changes and appointments throughout my treatment. She was always so kind, gentle, and she made every visit a positive experience.The results exceeded my expectations, and I’m incredibly grateful for the confidence my new smile has given me. I highly recommend Dr. Heddaya and his team to anyone looking for an orthodontist who genuinely cares about their patients and delivers amazing results.

Today, I had my consultation for aligners, and I was pleasantly greeted by Candice who walked me through the entire process. Candice had the most personable character you could hope for during a visit like this. She eased the stress, answered all questions, was super informative, and was all around a wonderful person ! We had a wonderful experience at this dental office. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and they made my kids feel very comfortable during their appointment. The doctor is excellent—patient, caring, and very good with children. My kids actually enjoyed their visit, which says a lot! I truly appreciate the great service and the way they take care of families. Highly recommend!
