Joyful Smiles Pediatric Dentistry of Tinley Park

Overall I had a decent experience. I did have my concerns though. To start off, this is a very clean, kid friendly dentist. They had a small section for toys within the waiting room and right away at the desk the staff was very nice. My daughter went back and had some trouble listening due to fear of the X-rays and having things in her mouth. The First Lady was very nice, patient and encouraging to my daughter. Then, the dentist came in for the exam and very much spoke in a child’s voice kinda mimicking Mrs.Rachel if I’m being honest. My daughter was responsive to her but still, just very scared. I had my son with me as I have no child care help (1 year old) and as most parents with multiple kids know it can be overwhelming. I did my best though to encourage my daughter to listen and sit still. She was asking a ton of questions and kept moving her hands up. The Second Lady was VERY obviously annoyed. Her voice then changed to a mix of Mrs.rachel/passive aggressive. To be clear, even though I could tell how she was feeling she was never rude to me. But, definitely didn’t mask it well and honestly made me feel like she was judging me. I know we are all human and I completely understand that it can be overwhelming working with kids. But at the same time this is a pediatric dentist.. I would still recommend this dentist because everyone there was extremely kind to me and it was just the one bad experience. For all I know, it could have been a bad day for her. Let’s see how the next visit goes.

What a nice atmosphere that is catered to the likes of children! The hygenist and doctor were attentive, personable and professional. The hygenist was approachable, answered questions, and took the extra time to demonstrate how to brush problem areas. Service was fast. The only critique would be that the receptionists should not only acknowledge children but the adults who brought them since the children don't bring themselves to their appointments. Inclusive is the word. In other words, don't just talk to an adult when a bill must be paid.

We had been to another pediatric dentist who wanted to put my son to sleep for his dental work, which we didn’t want. So we tried Joyful Smiles. Dr. McDonald was extremely patient and caring with my son. She took breaks when he needed, and when we had an issue later, she got us in right away. She and her assistants made my son feel safe, unlike the stress we felt before. I’m so glad we found them!

Brought my daughter to Joyful Smiley Denistry and our experiences was amazing. They make your child feel comfortable so that way they would know what to expect and they don’t make it feel like a scary experience. All of the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend !

Joyful Smile Kids Dentist was such a great experience for my kid. The staff was super friendly and made my kid feel comfortable right away. The office is bright, clean, and very kid-friendly. The dentist explained everything in a simple, gentle way, which really helped ease any nerves. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend them to other parents!

Love this place Dr.McDonald is such a great doctor very impressive my daughter fell asleep during treatment means a lot my daughter was comfortable and relaxed. Thanks to Dr.McDonald for your service and Lisa for taking such great care of my daughter! Shout out to Lynzee and Yachty they have seen all my kids here and very happy with everyone’s service, thanks joyful smiles!

We had a wonderful experience with everyone there. It started with the friendly faces of Olivia and Christina welcoming us in at the front desk as soon as we walked in. To the wonderful ladies in the back. Special shout out to Lindsey and Carolyn, who took care of my two little ones and made it a very fun and enjoyable experience for them. My kids were nervous at first, but that quickly changed to laughing and smiling thanks to their efforts. Dr. Wilson was wonderful at explaining our plan of care. It very easy to understand her and to make the best decision for my little ones. We will happily continue to be a patient of Joyful Smiles in Tinley Park.
